2000 HondaCbr1100xx Super Blackbird 2000 model CBR1100XX "Super Blackbird".
Generally regarded as the best of the Blackbirds, these are the first of the fuel-injected models, but lack the (performance impacting) catalytic converters, O2 sensors and speedo restrictions of later models.
Like all Blackbirds (and Hondas in general), they are robust, well-built bikes. While it's not the quickest thing out there these days, it's still a heck of a lot of motorcycle for the money, able to accelerate (out-of-the-box) through the quarter-mile in low 10s, on it's way to a top speed approaching 290KPH.
Of course, like most bikes out there, those stats are useful more for bragging rights, rather than any real practical purpose. That said, what they mean in reality is a bike that is capable of taking you and your partner away with plenty of luggage, in style and comfort, and with more than enough power and torque to cover decent distances, and overtake in all circumstances with ease.
This one has been "updated" with various after-market accessories to make it the perfect all-round big bike. Where a replacement part has been used, the original is also still available, should the new owner decide to return it to stock. The intention has always been to perform updates/upgrades which enhance the bike, but don't detract from it's original "brief".
2000 model CBR1100XX-Y, mechanically stock. ~51,000kms on the clock.
Yoshimura Slip-on mufflers, recently repacked. (Includes removable baffles). Headers are stock stainless steel 4-2-1-2 units in excellent condition.
OEM slip-ons included.
Bagster Tank Bra and Bag/s (Choice of two).
"Krauser" hard-pannier system, adapted to Blackbird with solid frame arrangement. Includes two lockable hard panniers and Hi-vis indicators (extra wiring in place to suit).
Throttlemeister throttle-lock system.
Oxford Heated grips.
Powerbronze rear hugger
Carbon Fiber "Fenda Extenda"
Near-new rotors front and rear. (Metalgear fronts and S3 rear).
Seat has been re-covered, and at the same time "re-profiled" to remove the hard upper foam layer. This has the effect of making the seat a little more comfortable, and also artificially lowering the seat height, without affecting suspension settings/geometry.
Bespoke sheepskin seat cover
Rear peg extenders. (OEM pegs are also available).
After-market Hi-bubble windscreen. (Has slight crack which has been repaired...also have original low-profile screen, and a dark-tinted, low-profile screen which is un-used).
Power Commander III installed, and professionally dyno-tuned (Have printouts).
Pirelli Grand Turismo tyres front and rear. These are the special "A" compound versions, designed for heavier, high-powered bikes such as this one, Hayabusas and ZX12/14s etc. In VGC.
LED tail/brake light in light smoke/tint. Updated version blinkers in matching tint. Front blinkers in clear/smoke, with chrome amber bulbs. All original lights/blinkers are included.
Includes wiring and USB/Cigarette socket accessory charging points (under seat). Sockets, heated grips etc. are all ignition-wired, so can't be inadvertently left on and drain the battery.
ACT Rego. 'till April 2017.
In the last couple of years, the following maintenance has been performed:
New disc rotors installed F&R in 2014.
New wheel bearings installed in 2014.
New chain and sprockets installed (2014).
New Fuel pressure regulator installed in July 2015 (preemptive change to the uprated 2003-onwards model FPR).
New stator and Reg/Rec installed in July/August 2016.
Bike is in VGC all-round, and has been regularly home-serviced (minor stuff, such as oil changes and some of the above update/upgrade tasks), and is also serviced where required by Rick Miller.
Like most Blackbirds, the bike has been owned by mature, sensible riders, who have taken care of it.
Would suit someone who is looking to get on to a decently quick, relatively well-sorted "big bike", at well below replacement cost. Easy to ride, but clearly not suited to novice riders.
Asking $7000 all-up. (Negotiable). Only selling as we are moving O/S next year, and cannot take our vehicles with us (I also have a Falcon ute for sale on Allclassifieds for the same reason).
'Bike is definitely worth a look, if you're after a well-sorted Blackbird.
