Advertising a pet on Allclassifieds

There are legal minimum age restrictions on the advertising and selling/rehoming of pets. Pets cannot be advertised on Allclassifieds until they reach the minimum ages below.

The content on the website is the subject of copyright and is owned or licensed by All Classifieds (ACT) Pty Ltd. The content is provided for the internal or private use of users. You agree that you will not without the consent of All Classifieds (ACT) Pty Ltd:

  1. Dogs - Must be at least 8 weeks of age
  2. Cats - Must be at least 8 weeks of age
  3. Rabbits - Must be at least 6 weeks of age
  4. Guinea Pigs - Must be at least 4 weeks of age
  5. Mice and Rats - Must be at least 4 weeks of age
  6. Birds - Must be self-sufficient

Many reptiles require a license for ownership and if selling a reptile, you must ensure the buyer has a valid license to own that type of reptile. These licensing laws can vary from state to state, please ensure you are acting within your local legislation.

Some dog breeds cannot be advertised on Allclassifieds, these include but may not be limited to the following.

  1. Bull Arab
  2. Bull Mastiff
  3. Pit Bull Terriers
  4. American Pit Bull Terriers
  5. American Staffordshire Terriers
  6. American Bulldogs
  7. American Johnson Bulldogs
  8. Teacup Poodles
  9. Teacup Yorkies
  10. Japanese Toza
  11. Fila Brasileiro
  12. MiPerro de Presa Canario
  13. Dogo Argentino or any other derivation thereof

In addition to the above, advertisers should ensure they meet the legal requirements of advertising pets for sale/rehoming in their state. This includes vaccinating, microchipping and desexing of dogs and cats and any applicable breeding registration laws.
