This magnificent C. Bechstein concert grand piano is available for sale due to the owner downsizing. It looks and sounds superb.

Always meticulously maintained, the piano has received regular action regulation and tuning as well as the frame and ivory key-tops being re-polished.

In addition, the instrument had a minor overhaul in 1992, with new Roslau strings and new hammers.

Finished in beautiful satin black, the instrument was manufactured in 1929 at the Bechstein factory in Berlin and carries the serial number 129203.

This piano is a full size concert grand, measuring 275 cm and would suit a discerning buyer in a private home, a private studio or a concert hall application.

Further information that may be of interest to some buyers: I also have the original Bechstein catalogue from 1930, which lists this piano, as well as all models available at the time and also includes endorsements from the major players of the day and their thoughts on the model E. Also, for anyone who would like to hear what this model sounds like it is captured in many recordings over the years, but none better than the George Bolet recordings on Decca of Liszt's Years of Pilgrimage trilogy. I recommend the Swiss disc, which is Decca 410 160-2 (CD) - Annees de Pelerinage - Suisse. It was also released on LP as Decca 410 160-1. For anyone seriously considering purchasing my piano, you will no doubt wish to try it out, or have someone accompany you who can play - you are very welcome.
